Technology requests are authorizations of work performed on IT-related inquires and issues. These types of requests are typically handled by an organization's technology department or IT support team.

Submitting From the Technology Request Module

1. Click on the Technology Requests module in the navigation menu to the left on your screen.


2. Click on the New request button in the upper right-hand corner of the grid view.

3. Fill out the required fields on technology request form, as well as any additional information you'd like.

*Request Type: This refers to the category of technology request.

*Request Type: Hardware

*Request: This is the title of the technology request or ticket.

Examples: New monitor needed, Install drivers to Joe Smith's laptop, Unable to connect to VPN, Printer in office not working, etc.

*Request: New monitor needed

*Request Type: Hardware

*Building: This is the building where the ticket needs to be completed.

*Name: New monitor needed
*Building: Elementary School

*Request Type: Hardware

*Location: This refers to the specific area in the building where the ticket needs to be completed.

*Name: New monitor needed
*Building: Elementary School

*Request Type: Hardware

Location: Classroom 130

On behalf of: If another user requested the ticket but didn't directly enter the request in FMX, select their name in here.
Equipment: Select any equipment that is associated with the ticket.
*Due: The date when the ticket is expected to be completed.
Followers: If you'd like to add any other users as followers to the ticket (like copying someone on an email), select their name here. Followers have the ability to receive progress update notifications.

Description: A detailed summary of the problem and the work that needs to be completed on the ticket.

Attachments: If the ticket needs any documentation submitted (photos of the issue, user access documentation, etc.), you can add those files here.

4. Once you have completed the form, click the Submit button at the bottom.

Submitting Requests From the FMX Calendar:

1. From your calendar, click on New Request button in the upper right-hand corner.

2. Choose Technology Request from the list.

3. A new window will open for you to complete the details of your request. When finished, click Save.
