Utility Manager Guided Setup & Intelligent Suggestions

We've made it easier and faster to get utility billing data into FMX and keep it accurate with our new guided setup and intelligent suggestions feature. This structured review process walks you through the data that matters most, and teaches FMX how to read your providers' bills going forward.

What's New

With the new guided setup and intelligent suggestions, you can:

  • Upload bills and let FMX automatically extract provider, account, building, and meter information
  • Walk through a guided review of buildings, providers, data fields, and accounts
  • Write "intelligent suggestions" that teach FMX exactly where to find data on your provider's bills
  • Start with one bill, get it perfect, then upload the rest knowing FMX will read them the same way
  • Upload a bill and FMX creates the buildings, providers, accounts, and meters it needs. No setting up records in advance.

Why It Matters

Utility bills come from different providers in different formats, and getting that data into a system where you can actually report on it takes work. FMX's AI extracts most of the information automatically, but the guided setup makes the review faster by showing you only what's new. Getting those categorizations and matches right is critical, because that's what lets FMX roll costs up accurately by building, provider, and meter in your reporting. Once you've set up a provider correctly the first time, every bill that follows requires less manual attention. That means your team spends less time on data entry and more time on the insights that actually drive facility decisions.

Google Admin Console Integration: New & Improved

We've completely rebuilt our Google Admin Console integration to be more reliable, flexible, and easier to manage. If you sync users or Chrome devices from Google Workspace, you'll notice improved performance and new controls that give you more power over how data flows between systems.

What's New

The rebuilt integration brings significant improvements:

  • Consolidated setup: User sync, Chrome device sync, and all controls are now in one place (they used to require separate configuration)
  • More reliable authorization: Uses Google Cloud service accounts, so the integration won't break when admin passwords change
  • Flexible mapping: Map users and devices by Groups or Organizational Units, giving you control over how granular your sync rules are
  • Configurable directional sync: Choose which system is your source of truth for device types (FMX to Google, Google to FMX, or bidirectional)
  • Better error handling: The integration now fails fast with clear error messages instead of silently breaking (which used to cause a backlog of sync issues)
  • Data integrity guardrails: Prevents the duplicate device creation that sometimes happened in the past

Why It Matters

Google Admin Console is often the source of truth for IT teams in schools, especially for managing Chromebooks and user access. When FMX and Google Admin Console don't stay in sync, IT teams end up managing devices in two places, and your FMX data gets stale. The rebuilt integration makes syncing reliable and gives you control over the direction of that sync. If your IT team updates devices in Google, FMX updates automatically. The same works in reverse. That means you get accurate device inventory in FMX, IT teams don't have to double-work, and your data stays consistent. Many schools have also discovered this integration covers what they need for user sync without requiring a separate Student Information System integration.

SensorHubb Partnership: Automate Your Facility Monitoring

We're partnering with SensorHubb to bring automated, predictive monitoring to FMX. SensorHubb monitors the equipment you rely on every day (refrigeration, HVAC, water systems, air quality, and more) and learns what normal looks like for each unit. When something starts to drift, like a cooler recovering too slowly or a compressor short-cycling, SensorHubb flags it and sends an alert into FMX, creating a work order automatically. Close the ticket in FMX and the alert clears in SensorHubb, so both systems stay in sync.

What's New

The SensorHubb integration brings true end-to-end automation:

  • Sensor alerts auto-create FMX work orders with priority, location, asset, and description already filled in
  • Completed work orders automatically close the alert in SensorHubb with zero manual steps
  • Every issue gets a complete audit trail from initial detection to final resolution
  • Support for multiple sensor types: temperature, humidity, vibration, power, and pressure
  • Single-click setup: no middleware or custom integration work required
  • Bidirectional sync keeps both platforms in perfect alignment

Why It Matters

When something starts to drift or cross a safe threshold, SensorHubb confirms it's a real issue and alerts FMX, which automatically creates a work order and keeps both systems' equipment records in sync. Together, SensorHubb predicts the problem and FMX turns it into planned work, so teams can fix small issues before they become failures or big-ticket repairs.
