Users can create tooltips on a custom field to:
- Provide instructions to requestors
- Define what a particular field represents
- Set expectations or best practices to fill out the field
Tooltips can replace some read-only fields to enhance form simplicity and clarity.
How it Works
When a tooltip is added to a custom field there will be a dotted line under the name of the field. Then when a user hovers over the name a tooltip or custom message will appear.
How to set it up
To add tooltips to custom fields:
1. Go to admin settings, and then to the Form Builder section.
2. Select which Module and Stage to place your custom field.
3. To add a tooltip: create a new field by selecting the "Add custom field" button at the bottom of the page, or edit an existing field by selecting the edit icon.
4. Fill out the "Tooltip" field with the message you would like to appear when a user hovers over the name of the field. Click save on the custom field slide-out once you are finished.
5. Lastly, hit the "Save Form" button at the bottom when you are done.
