What is single sign-on? What is involved in the integration?

Single sign-on is an authentication scheme that allows a user to log in with a single ID and password to any of several related, yet independent, software systems. If your company has purchased the Google Apps SSO integration, all FMX will need is:

  • Your organization's Google Apps domain (This will prevent Google users outside of the domain from authenticating).
    • If your organization commonly uses an additional domain or a sub-domain, FMX will need that information as well
  • The initial user type users will be assigned to when they authenticate with FMX for the first time
    • For example, a school district may want the initial user type to be "Staff".

To complete the integration, email your FMX Customer Success Manager with your organization's Google App domain.

Please note: FMX also provides a Google Admin Console integration that allows IT teams to sync GAC data to FMX for easier user and device management. If you'd like more information on this integration, please reach out to your Account Manager.
