Whether we're migrating data over from another work order management system or setting up an integration between FMX and another platform, FMX will often ask customers to share sensitive information, such as login credentials or API access tokens, in order to access the data necessary to complete these projects.

Rest assured, the 'Secure Messages' feature allows end-users to pass their credentials to FMX as encrypted text to ensure a safe and secure transfer of this sensitive information.

To utilize the 'Secure Messages' feature, please follow the steps below:

  1. Log in into your FMX site found at (https://hostname.gofmx.com/login).

Note: If you do not yet have an FMX site, please contact your FMX representative and they will get that set up for you.

  2. Once logged in, navigate to the Admin Settings module and click on the Secure Messages tab.

Note: If you do not see the Secure Messages tab, please contact your FMX representative and they will enable it for you.
  3. Type in your username/email address, password, and any message that helps FMX understand what information you're sending in the plain text field.

If you have multiple sets of credentials to send to FMX, please include those in the message.

When that's all done, select 'Send secure message'. FMX will encrypt the text and send it over to our data team in a secure message. From here, FMX will decrypt the text to access your system and follow through with the completion of your project.
